The repentance in the Eastern-Orthodox spiritual tradition and, in the first place, in the hesychast mystico-ascetical practice, is considered as an anthropological phenomenon and a thorough conceptual analysis of this phenomenon is presented. The analysis is based on the concepts of energetic anthropology developed by the author. Comparison to the treatment of Repentance in the Roman Catholic tradition and similar phenomena in Eastern spiritual practices is made. Profound new features of the phenomenon, such as the presence of elements of synergetical dynamics, are discovered.
