The women were indeed astonished at this (женщины были, несомненно, поражены этим; indeed — в самом деле, действительно; конечно, несомненно; to astonish — изумлять, поражать, удивлять). All hastened to put their babes that night under the ice (все поспешили опустить своих малышей тем вечером под лед), and then the Raccoon rushed away (и тогда Енот заторопился прочь; to rush — бросаться, мчаться, нестись, устремляться).
