Один из священников вскочил и злобно выкрикнул:

One of the priests sprang to his feet and cried out angrily,

– Это ересь!

“It’s heresy!

Летать могут только ангелы.

Only angels can fly.”

Далее он рассуждал о том, что если бы Бог хотел, чтобы человек летал, то Он дал бы ему крылья.

Then he said that if God wanted man to fly, He would give him wings.

Забрав своих двоих сыновей, священник покинул собрание в знак протеста.

Taking away his two sons, the priest left the meeting as a sign of protest.

Его фамилия была Райт.

His name was Wright.

Это его сыновья через некоторое время изобрели самолёт.

Some time later his sons have invented the first plane.

Однажды Мудрец провёл эксперимент.

One day a Sage made an experiment.

Он разделил учеников на две части и дал им разные задания.

He divided his disciples into two groups and gave them different tasks.

Первой половине учеников Мудрец поручил сделать по одному горшку.

The Sage assigned that every disciple of the first group had to make only one pot.

Он сказал, что будет оценивать их труд по качеству этого единственного горшка.

He said that he would evaluate their work according to the quality of the pot.

Чем лучше у них выйдет горшок, тем выше будет оценка.

The better is the pot, the higher grade they get.

Второй группе Мудрец сказал сделать по 50 горшков каждому ученику.

The Sage said that every disciple of the second group had to make 50 pots.

Не важно, какого качества, лишь бы их было 50 штук.

The quality doesn’t matter, the amount must be 50 pieces.

По окончании эксперимента выяснилось, что пятидесятый горшок у второй группы получился гораздо качественнее, чем единственный горшок у первой группы.

By the end of the experiment, the every 50th pot of the second group disciples turned out to be much better than the single pot of the first group disciples.

Долго они спорили и решили проверить свою силу на одном путешественнике.

They had been arguing for a long time and decided to test their strength on a traveler.

– Я быстро сорву с него плащ! – сказал Ветер.

“I’ll quickly blow off his cloak!” the Wind said.

И начал дуть.

And it has started blowing.

Он дул очень сильно и долго.

It was blowing very strong and long.

Но человек только плотнее закутывался в свой плащ.

But the person mantled in his cloak more.

Тогда Солнце начало пригревать путника.

Then the Sun has started warming up the traveler.

Он сначала опустил воротник.

At first he lowered his collar.

Потом развязал пояс.

Then he untied the belt.

А потом снял плащ и понёс его на руке.
